First Book Signing was Incredible

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Totally a Success!

Yesterday was my first book signing and it was so much fun. When I got home after celebrating with Sushi and a fellow author, Arlene Radasky and the cover artist Amie Perry-Reavis and My husband, I got a message from Emerain Rich and she ask if she could interview me about the book signing. So instead of writing a blog about it I thought I would share a snippet from the interview that will air in full at a later date on Horror Addicts.

It was so cool to have the staff put the sticker on my book as the Staff Pick! They also talked about doing another signing and a book club event. Very exciting to be able to be involved at a community books store. Many thanks to McCabes & Company Booksellers of Crestline, CA.

Thank you to everyone to turned out and purchased the book, came to meet me and support me. You are the reason this author will do another event like this.My self, the cover artist and the banner out side of McCabes and Co Booksellers in Crestline in Southern California.

Amie Perry-Reavis is a dear friend and an wonderful artist. You can see more of her work and buy product with her signature artistic style on her website www.goddessprints.com. She has a fabulous series of greeting cards, reproductions and original works for sale and many forms.

Arlene Radasky the author of The Fox and my partner in BTR-Authors Read came out to show her support and I was so grateful to have her there, but what was really cool was the bookstore picked up some of her books and she sold one and I got to see her sign it.

I Can’t thank everyone enough especially McCabes for supporting this local author and asking for me to come back and do it again! Must of done something right.

Keep writing I know I will.

Meet the Author this Saturday.

Book Signing August 29th 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

I am so excited to be doing my first book signing right here on the mountain.

Mc Cabe & CO Booksellers

23898 Lake Dr, Crestline, CA 92325 Get directions

Mc Cabes and Co are some of the nicest people. They truly support local authors and in this case a local artist as well, Amie Perry-Reavis. There will be a book reading and paper backs for sale. If you already have a copy bring it I will be happy to sign it. The Original art will also be there for those of you who want a closer look at the 2009 contest series grand prize.

This week I made a even bigger attempt at spreading the word in a grass roots effort to tell my local communities about the coming event. Our local paper The Alpenhorn News is going to run the announcement and they will also be reviewing the book in the next couple of weeks. There have been announcement fliers spread from Running Springs to Crestline. I also sent the press release to another local paper The Mountain News we will see if they run the story.

If you live in Southern California then you can enjoy a day in the mountains beating the heat. We are always 20 degrees cooler up here. Our community is nestled in the San Bernardino National Forest. After the book signing spend an hour at Lake Greggory about a quarter mile from the book store or take a short drive to Lake Arrowhead Village and make a day of it. Bring your hiking boots or off road vehicle and hit the trails it is free! Silverwood lake is less than 30 minutes from the book store.

So how did this happen?

Simple, I have a friend who went to the book store and said, “Do you carry The Mark of a Druid?” They said, “It is not in stock but, we can order it for you.” She then said, “She is a local author will she be having a signing here?” She kept asking when I was going to set it up. There is nothing like your friends and fans pushing for you. I was busy when we first released with my online efforts and didn’t want to invite people up when it was snowing. Hence, the end of the summer Book Signing. Escape the So Cal heat at 5000 ft while you support a local author. It is actually pretty funny how nervous I was when I went in to set it up. I took some bookmarks in to the store and asked to talk with the owner. I didn’t realize until after I walked out, with the booking in my PDA, that I couldn’t find my keys. I thought, oh great, I’m so nervous I left them inside. Then I realized I didn’t need to go back in because my car was running windows down, car unlock, in the parking lot. I must have been so nervous when I parked I didn’t even turn off my car. I remember telling myself just do it all they can say is no and I jumped out of the car.

I hope to see friends, colleagues, neighbors, mountain folks and of course all of the great people from down the hill, as we say up here above the clouds.

This Week in Blog Talk Radio

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

The Last month Blog Talk Radio Podioracket has been jumping off the hook and this week is no exception. If you haven’t listened to a show then what are you waiting for. We are having a blast and you don’t have to miss a thing. Listen live or in archive. Pick the authors you want  to hear about and by all means, join in the contests. You could win some pretty cool schwag.

Monday night 6:00 Pm PST Mike Luoma:

Mike Luoma will be joining Rhonda for a Live Podioracket Blog Talk Radio Extension on Monday, August 17th at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern. In addition to a great interview, you’ll also get to hear clips of his music, discuss the re-mastered version of Vatican Assassin and talk about about his other words such as Synthetic Marmalade.

Here is a tease about the new release:

“BERNARD CAMPION’S friends call him “BC”. Not that he has a lot of friends. You don’t make a lot of friends when you’re an assassin. His mission: eliminate the governor of Luna Prime, Meredith McEntyre. His bosses, The Office of Papal Operations: The OPO, tell him she’s been sympathizing with the enemy, the Universal Islamic Nation (UIN). His boss? BC works for the Pope. It’s 2109, a time of war. BC is ‘officially’ assigned as PR man to the Vatican Mission on Luna Prime, the major city on The Moon, as his cover. Just a mild mannered, young, twenty-something priest working for the New catholic Church on public relations. But he’s really a weapon pointed at the UIN by the NcC and their Earth based allies, the Universal Trade Zone, the UTZ.”

Listen to Mike ‘Raise a Racket’! Set a reminder.

And stay tuned for this week’s other BTR show with J.D. Sawyer and his new contest announcement! Thursday, August 20th at 6pm Pacific/9pm Easter. Set a reminder.

Thursday 6:00 pn PST J. Daniel Sawyer

Meet J. Daniel Sawyer one of my favorite podcaster, writers, just plan great folks and author of Sculpting God and Predestination and Other Games of Chance. Won’t you join us live to talk with us and learn about his new release Down From Ten.
J. Daniel Sawyer is a science fiction author seeking to further destabilize the universe by building a cult in his own honor.
Although not as crazy as Philip K. Dick or as bloody-minded as Robert A. Heinlein, he does share certain delusional qualities with both, including a prominent middle initial and the fantasy that the universe would be a better place if reality conformed to the strange visions protected by his fragile skull.
Lest the fragility of his skull give you any ideas, be advised that he has a killer fedora hat and isn’t afraid to use it. He also saw one too many bond movies as a child. Sawyer, J.Daniel Sawyer.

Set your reminder now!
